We don’t use internet cookies to track you, on the web or in our apps.

What are cookies?
Cookies are like little notes websites leave on your computer. These notes help websites remember things about you, like your preferences, login status, or browsing behavior. While some cookies are helpful, many are used for tracking and advertising. They are a web-browser feature, so what they mean differs between our website and our apps.
By surface
Cookies live in the browser, so the story is different on the web than in the apps. Choose a surface:
Our no-cookie promise
No notes left behind. This website operates without placing tracking cookies on your device.
No memory needed. The site is designed to work perfectly without cookie-based tracking.
Why no cookies?
- Better privacy.By not using cookies, we eliminate an entire category of potential privacy concerns. Your browsing patterns and preferences aren’t being tracked or stored by us.
- Improved performance. Without the overhead of cookie management, the site runs more efficiently and with fewer complications.
- User control. No hidden tracking means you have full visibility into how the site interacts with your device.
Website analytics
Fathom Analytics:we use Fathom for anonymous usage analytics on this website. Fathom is privacy-focused and doesn’t use tracking cookies or collect personal data. If you visit Fathom directly, please check their own rules about cookies.
The apps don’t use cookies
Cookies are a web-browser mechanism, so they don’t apply to the native Cleft apps on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. There is nothing cookie-shaped tracking you inside the apps.
In-app analytics
TelemetryDeck:we use TelemetryDeck for anonymous in-app analytics to understand how people use Cleft. TelemetryDeck doesn’t use cookies; it uses anonymous, non-reversible identifiers and collects no personal information. It aligns with our privacy-first approach: no cookies, no personal data collection.
If we change our mind
If we ever decide to use cookies in the future, we’ll:
- Tell you here and explain why
- Update this policy with clear information
- Give you control over cookie preferences
- Maintain our commitment to your privacy
Current status: no changes planned. Our no-cookie approach aligns with our privacy-first values.
Using Cleft
Using Cleft means you’re okay with how we do things, and we remind you along the way to ensure you never share information you didn’t intend to.
